The brief
A premium solar site with a live savings calculator and energy dashboard.
Solar is a big, considered purchase, and the national installers have a reputation problem: pushy sales reps, savings that don't add up and months of silence after you sign. A premium local installer needed to look the part on Cotswold stone homes, show honest numbers and make booking a survey the obvious next step.
The approach
- 01
Researched the biggest UK solar sites (Octopus, Heatable, Sunsave, Project Solar, Otovo) for what converts, and their reviews for what customers hate, then built every promise around those complaints.
- 02
Put a live savings calculator in the hero: bill, roof direction and extras update the saving, system size, price, payback and a monthly generation chart instantly, using real October 2026 energy prices, with every assumption shown openly.
- 03
Built an animated home energy dashboard, a simulated June day where power flows between the panels, battery, home and grid, so visitors can see how a system actually works.
- 04
Replaced the usual process steps with an interactive install planner that shows a real week-by-week timeline for small and large systems, including grid approval.

Went bold and colour-led: deep emerald and solar lime, heavy grotesk headlines with italic serif accents, and full-black panel photography.
